Dark, AvoChocolate Truffles

Truffles

SUPER Flippin EASY
             ~~~yet mind numbingly GOOOOOD~~~
Somewhat healthy way:
  • 1 mashed avocado
  • 1 cup organic, dark chocolate chips
  • A little organic, raw honey or stevia if you really need it (chocolate chips are most likely sweetened and shouldn't need any extra sugar). You better be really trying to impress someone if you take this step...
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp vanilla
Melt chocolate chips on the stove at a low heat
(And no, NOT in the microwave)
Mash avocado in a bowl, add melted chocolate, then add
vanilla and, but not preferably, honey/stevia/xylitol
Mix well with hand blender, cool in fridge for at least 1 hour, or until cool and firm.  Sometimes it takes longer, be patient, I know its tough.
Roll in minced coconut, hemp seeds, chia, cacao nibs, whatevs.
Cool again.
Devour.
Superfood, advanced plan, no sugar (errrr maybe a touch of sugar), antioxidants galore way to make TRUFFLES
  • 1 avocado
    • (I usually use 2 and add more ingredients as necessary. Much taste testing involved!!)
  • ~1/2c - 3/4c coconut oil (I'll have to measure this someday, without eyeballing it)
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Dash of Himalayan salt
  • Raw cAcao powder  (1/2c, although many cacao's differ in potency, so a little experimentation may be needed!)
  • 1-2 tsp vanilla
  • (optional) Grassfed, cold-processed, undenatured, chocolate whey protein.
  • 1 tbsp grassfed butter (optional)
  • 1-2 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
  • (optional) 1/4 cup full fat organic coconut milk
  • 1-2 tbsp raw, organic honey.  Or a couple drops of liquid stevia, if you're into that thing.
At a very low temperature, melt the coconut oil in a small pan on the stove, add the cacao powder, and possibly honey, and stir ingredients together.  Add to the mashed avocado and stir.
  Makes about 15 truffles.  By all means go ahead and double, triple the recipe!  And remember, taste test along the way! The mixture will taste better after cooling.
If you add to a food processor, you can add de-pitted dates, which will help sweeten the dish, while adding fiber to aid in balancing blood sugar.
Get creative.
  • Add crushed pecans or almonds.
  •  Add more coconut milk (a full can) and freeze it. Turns in to a nice ice cream!!
  • Add a couple drops of Peppermint essential oils (doTerra or YoungLiving)
  • Ripe bananas always pair well.
And yes,  RAW CACAO,  not cOcoa.
Check out da Difference
And why you should just make your own chocolate and take all the guessing out of the quality and what you are putting into your body!
Chocolate ingredients to look out for
This recipe is LOADED with superfoods that support your body in creating HEALTH.  But, I do get quite a few questions about supplements. Which I have dabbled with for quite some time, but this is what it comes down to...
Supplements???
Health come from the inside out, NOT the other way around, Right?   Our body has to be functioning optimally in order to be healthy, which is simply a state at which your body is healing.  It's right in the word.  Can't I get all my essential nutrients from the foods I eat?  Ideally, Yes. In reality, NO.  Most of our food is highly processed, toxic, and foreign to our bodies.  Nutrient density is at an all time low, even in many "organic" foods.  Not only is our food devoid of proper nutrition, but we are encapsulated in a toxic environment; regardless of where you are or how good you think you are at avoiding toxins.  We need to take care of our bodies through our lifestyle practices and optimize our body's ability to utilize the food we supply it, and handle the toxins we are exposed to every day.  That's where the PROPER supplements can fill this gap and get you on the right track.
People ask me about supplements all the time and I have to make sure they are getting on the proper supplements as most on the store shelves are toxic and on the opposite side of the spectrum of "healthy",  which is essential the point of taking a supplement right?
And it's great to know all of you are taking whole food based, organic supplements that don't contain any toxic or allergenic GMO products, casein, soy, gluten, or synthetically manufactured vitamins or additives... RRRRIGHT??? Are you sure you are taking the best possible products?? One's that are not highly toxic to your body and completely negate any health goals you're trying to achieve?  This  is why I want to give you the opportunity get all your high quality products in the SAME spot!..  without having to rack the shelves at your local co-op trying to find the perfect product, wasting all sorts of time and $$money$$.  (Speaking from experience..)
We're all unique, in every way, including our nutritional needs. Which is why one size does not fit all when it comes to your supplements.  The easiest and quickest way to see what you may need is to take this assessment! It's quick, free and you're not obligated to purchase anything, although it'll be significantly more reasonable than anything else of comparative quality.
