Birth control is giving rise to transgender fish

  • "The study of freshwater fish in Britain found a fifth of males are now showing feminine traits — including producing eggs, a reduced sperm count and less aggressive behavior — due to gender-bending chemicals found in the contraceptive pill, cleaning agents, plastics and cosmetics,"

Developmental Fluoride Neurotoxicity: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
  • https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3491930/
  • "children in high-fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ scores than those who lived in low-fluoride areas."
  • "For neurotoxicants such as lead and methylmercury, adverse effects are associated with blood concentrations as low as 10 nmol/L. Serum fluoride concentrations associated with high intakes from drinking water may exceed 1 mg/L, or 50 µmol/L—more than 1,000 times the levels of some other neurotoxicants that cause neurodevelopmental damage. Supporting the plausibility of our findings, rats exposed to 1 ppm (50 µmol/L) of water fluoride for 1 year showed morphological alterations in the brain and increased levels of aluminum in brain tissue compared with controls ()."
  • "Our review cannot be used to derive an exposure limit, because the actual exposures of the individual children are not known"

Fluoridated Irish Kids Experience Massive Tooth Decay Epidemic

  • "Ireland is the only country in the EU that forces its citizens to be fluoridated. This is due to the Fluoridation of Water Supplies Act of 1960"
  • "But what’s not being discussed is the fact that fluoride contains hydrofluorosilicic acidwhich is a corrosive acid. It can eat through pure metal. It can eat through concrete and hazmat suits. "

Harvard Research Links Fluoridated Water to ADHD, Mental Disorders

Are fluoride levels in drinking water associated with hypothyroidism prevalence in England? A large observational study of GP practice data and fluoride levels in drinking water

  • "The research began in a study published in 2006 which initially looked at the effects of various industrial chemicals on neuro-development.[1] The research continued with an analysis of more industrial chemicals including fluoride. 27 additional studies, including one that linked fluoride to the lowering of IQ in children, clearly illustrated the fact that fluoride is detrimental to brain development and can lead to autism spectrum disorders and other mental issues. The issue is being coined “a silent epidemic” and most health authorities continue to turn a blind eye to the issue."

Where does the 'flouride' in your water come from anyway?

  • And what we know about tap water.. let's avoid both eh??
Ones that have fluoride--Avoid
Alhambra, Sierra Springs, Sparkletts, Arrowhead, Mount Olympus, Belmont Springs, Poland Spring, Crystal Rock, Crystal Springs, Shenandoah, Deer Park, Diamond Springs, Nursery Water, Hindley Spri, Ice Mountain, Kandiyohi, Puritan Springs, Kentwood Springs, Mayer Bros., Ozarka, Pure Flo, Zephyrhills.
Here are some that supposedly do not:
Aquafina, Crystal Point, Dannon, Deja Blue, Evian, Fresh Market, Great Value, Smart Water, Summit Mountains and Summit Springs.

Filters n Shower Filters n Such

EWG Water Filter Guide
There are some suggestions I would make, as things are not very clear on this page.
For example: I would agree that reverse osmosis water is the most 'effective' at removing ... well... everything. But that's the problem.  You're left with ... dead water.  I would highly recommend 'remineralizing' and getting a device to help restructure the dead water.  Your body will love you

Do you want a refreshing shower that rejuvenates your hair and skin?
Do you want to have a shower without worrying about the harmful chemicals passing through your water?
Unlike other shower filters, we use a specialized blend of activated coconut carbon with a high-purity copper-zinc alloy known as KDF-55.
What are the benefits of using our filter?
      Coconut Carbon
      • Traps herbicides, pesticides, chlorine, and other impurities through adsorption.
      • Tremendous capacity to remove not only chlorine, unpleasant odors, and sediment, but colors as well.
Also, because activated coconut shell carbon provides a significantly higher volume of micropores and a lower ash content than standard carbon block filters, our shower filter also removes harmful chemicals other products leave behind, like trihalomethanes, and greatly decreases volatile organic compounds such as chloroform and pertrochemicals.
      KDF-55
      • Eliminates hydrogen sulfide, lead, mercury, arsenic, and other metals through a chemical redox reaction.
      • Can eliminate up to 99% of harmful chlorine and it's vapors from shower water (depending on water temperature and flow variables)
      • Reduces exposure to Radon and discourages the growth of mold, fungi and algae
      • Reduces lime and scale buildup for cleaner showerhead nozzles and bathroom fixtures

Flouride
  • Finally admitted that adding flouride to our water supply is harmful and unnecessary
    • Flouride is a natural mineral that can be found in water and soil. So... you do get optimal levels through eating the way you should.
    • It is a known neuro toxin.  With known detrimental effects.

Exposure to fluoridated water and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder prevalence among children and adolescents in the United States: an ecological association

Results

State prevalence of artificial water fluoridation in 1992 significantly positively predicted state prevalence of ADHD in 2003, 2007 and 2011, even after controlling for socioeconomic status. A multivariate regression analysis showed that after socioeconomic status was controlled each 1% increase in artificial fluoridation prevalence in 1992 was associated with approximately 67,000 to 131,000 additional ADHD diagnoses from 2003 to 2011. Overall state water fluoridation prevalence (not distinguishing between fluoridation types) was also significantly positively correlated with state prevalence of ADHD for all but one year examined.

Conclusions

Parents reported higher rates of medically-diagnosed ADHD in their children in states in which a greater proportion of people receive fluoridated water from public water supplies. The relationship between fluoride exposure and ADHD warrants future study.

Cost:  Is it worth it??
A common area of anxiety many experience when buying a filtration system is the initial cost.  Filter systems are typically less expensive for initial setup than purification systems, however, as you add up the cost and time to buy replacement filters every 1 to 3 months, they are actually substantially more expensive than a purification system, like the Berkey. Consider the average cost of bottled water is $0.75 per gallon (calculated above).  A Berkey filter’s cost is $0.02 per gallon ($107 cost / 6,000-gallon filter lifespan). That is 37 times less than bottled water! Let’s also consider the price of pitcher and faucet filter replacements. Typically, pitcher filter replacement cost $0.15 per gallon, as they last 40 gallons and cost $6.33 each. A Faucet filter is even more expensive at $0.18 per gallon, as they typically last 100 gallons and cost $18.99 each.  Compared to Berkey Filters both pitcher and faucet filters are 7.5 to 9 times more expensive. Also, take into consideration the lifespan of Berkey Filters (6,000 gallons) will last 150 to 160 times longer than pitcher and faucet filters.

Even though the initial set up cost for Berkey may seem pricey (systems start at $228) you will be saving more money and time than buying plastic water bottles, pitcher and faucet filters. With a Berkey Filter system, your water is a mere $0.02 per gallon for clean drinking water, and your filters will last for years, saving you valuable time!

Effect of Alkaline Drinking Water on Bone Density of Postmenopausal Women with Osteoporosis

"Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate that drinking alkaline water improves spine T-scores in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis. Hence, alkaline water can be used to treat osteoporosis due to increased bone density in postmenopausal women. Long-term interventions are necessary to confirm the effects of alkaline water on femur density."
