Nom Nom~>Chia Seed Pudding
Smoothies & Chia Seed Pudding
Chia seed pudding:
I tend to eye ball this one. A few tablespoons of chia seeds to your choice of liquid, but please, NO conventionally produced milk or any soy products.Liquids: Single or combined:
- -Pure, filtered Water (Brita's don't count!)
- -Coconut milk
- -Almond milk
- -Flax milk
- -Grass fed, organic Kefir
Note** Be sure to buy products that are GMO free, ideally organic, and are free of preservatives and other agents. CARRAGEAN is an additive that is even in organic products that you should absolutely avoid!
2 ways to go about it...
- Add several tbsp and chia seeds directly to your liquid base.. Allow seeds to soak for 5-10 minutes... Then top with whatever toppings you find necessary.
- Make a smoothie base, Add Chia to further thicken, then top with ingredients.
Creamy Base aka Smoothie
- 1 serving Whey protein
-Grass-fed, undenatured, unpasteurized, sweetened with stevia, no preservatives or unnecessary additives
- 1 serving Vegan protein
-Organic, undenatured, no soy, no synthetic/toxic additives, gluten free, no junk, superfood all plant based protein.
- 2-4 tbsp raw Cacao powder and/or carob powder
- 1/2 Avocado
- -Diced Avocado PIT (Peeled) (if you have a good blender, this is an incredible addition)
- 1-2carrots
- 1-2 Handfuls of spinach, kale, chard, other greens (spinach is the sweetest)
- -other veggies (zucchini!)
- -Cinnamon (dash)
- -Dash of vanilla
- optional: 1/2 ripe banana, flax seeds, hemp seeds
- Dash of real stevia, raw/organic/local honey, or grade-B organic maple syrup
- optional-RAW, pasture raised egg
- 1 cup Water, coconut/almond/flax milk: This amount will vary, depending on the amount of things have been added. You can always add more liquid!
Blend er up!
Then topped with...
- -Organic berries
- -Cacao nibs
- -Coconut flakes
- -Chia seeds
- -Flax
- -Hemp seeds
- -Sprouted nuts/seeds
- -Diced organic Granny Smith apple
- -annnnd more cinnamon
By all means, you don't have to go overboard on what you shove in your smoothies or chia seed puddings. We tend to get into the mindset that more is better... but that can lead you astray in many cases, even if it is all good ingredients. I tend to get creative, but if I'm in a hurry I keep it more simple. It may be easier on the digestive system to make it a bit more simple anyway.
If you seem to have a hard time digesting some of these goodies.. that is quite alright! Simplify your pudding or smoothies by using ingredients that are easier on your digestive system, especially if you're eating these things right away in the morning. ie Try to avoid consuming excess nut products (whole nuts, nut milks, nut butters, nut flours) as they can be hard to digest in larger quantities and actually inhibit digestion of other foods and nutrients. Avoiding too much fructose from the fruits could also be something to try and eliminate. And of course, try eliminating ALL dairy products, for at least 3 weeks before reintroducing it.
I'll make smoothies out of all these goodies, some of these goodies, whatever feels good that day/time allowance. Sometimes I'll mix my smoothie in with my chia seed pudding to make it denser and tastier.
Smoothies
I'll throw in basically all the same things I would in a chia seed pudding and blend er up. Lately, I've really been avoid extra fructose, so I've even been shying away from using berries everyday. To most people, I wouldn't even make a point of this; as long as they're using real foods and not overdoing it on the fruit.
1) Monster smoothie
-Errrythang you can cram in (from list above)
-Literally countless varieties you can make.
***I would recommend getting use to using more veggies than fruit in your concoctions. You'll adapt, I promise. Especially after you get use to a very low carb diet. Spinach and carrots are pretty sweet veggies. start with those!
2) "Frosty" (what my dad calls it)
- -Ice (more than for the usual smoothie~6-8 cubes)
- -1/4 to 1 banana (depending how much sugar you want)
- -Chocolate grassfed, undenatured, unpasturized blah blah blah whey protein (I like the ML whey, SFH, but my favorite is IDLife: lactose and casein free!-- @My Essentials)
- Cacao powder (~1-2 tbsp)
- ~1/3 ripe avocado (you can add part of the pit too!)
- -Unsweetened, GMO and caraggean FREE almond and/or coconut milk (Use less to keep it thick and creamy, just like those beloved frostys.. make Dave proud). Water will do too.
- 1-2 tbsp chia seeds
- (Optional) 1 RAW pasture raised egg!
Starting your day with an easy to digest smoothie will absolutely kick start your body, mind, and soul. All of the superhealing fats, antioxidants, clean proteins/amino acids, vitamins, co factors, fiber, etc etc, will absolutely deliver vital fuel to aid in establishing health. Get creative, establish values and effectively pursue goals. You'll never turn back, and see no other direction than proceeding forward, with no limits, with no inhibitions, with faith that you are on a purpose driven, lifelong journey.... and you're the only one in the driver seat.

If you've been as lost as I've been with finding the right supplements.. read below, and take advantage. As many of my friends and family have done.
Supplements???
Can't I get all my essential nutrients from the foods I eat? Ideally, Yes. In reality, NO. Most of our food is highly processed, toxic, and foreign to our bodies. Nutrient density is at an all time low, even in most "organic" foods. Not only is our food devoid of proper nutrition, but we are encapsulated in a toxic environment; regardless of where you are or how good you think you are at avoiding toxins. We need to take care of our bodies through our lifestyle practices and optimize our body's ability to utilize the food we supply it, and handle the toxins we are exposed to every day. On top of that, the number of people taking medications has exponentially increased; which ALL have a significant effect on your bodies nutrient stores, or ability to utilize nutrients. That's where the PROPER supplements can fill this gap and get you on the right track.
People ask me about supplements all the time and I have to make sure they are getting on the proper supplements as most on the store shelves are toxic and on the opposite side of the spectrum of "healthy", which is essential the point of taking a supplement right?
And it's great to know all of you are taking whole food based, organic supplements that don't contain any toxic or allergenic GMO products, casein, soy, gluten, or synthetically manufactured vitamins or additives... RRRRIGHT??? Are you sure you are taking the best possible products?? One's that are not highly toxic to your body and completely negate any health goals you're trying to achieve? This is why I want to give you the opportunity get all your high quality products in the SAME spot!.. without having to rack the shelves at your local co-op trying to find the perfect product, wasting all sorts of time and money. (Speaking from experience..)
We're all unique, in every way, including our nutritional needs. Which is why one size does not fit all when it comes to your supplements. The easiest and quickest way to see what you may need is to take this assessment!
